PANTAFLIX, as part of the German delegation, undertakes a field trip to the heart of the Chinese film industry

Munich, October 18, 2019. PANTAFLIX AG (GSIN: A12UPJ, ISIN: DE000A12UPJ7) is still enjoying a growing popularity. And that beyond national borders. PANTALEON Films, a 100% subsidiary of PANTAFLIX AG, was selected as part of the German delegation for a field trip to China. Bridging the Dragon, a company that promotes cultural exchange between filmmakers in Germany and China, is organizing a five-day series of events together with the Filmförderungsanstalt (FFA), the FilmFernsehFonds BAYERN (FFF) and the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.

In Beijing, PANTALEON Films will meet several exponents of the Chinese film market. Among them there are famous players, such as the world's largest cinema operator Wanda Pictures, the production company New Classics Media - which recently produced the Chinese remake of the Italian blockbuster 'Perfect Strangers' with a revenue of more than EUR 80 million in China - and Gravity Pictures, which brought the US and Chinese blockbuster 'The Meg' to the big screen.

PANTAFLIX has cultivated a deep and trusting relationship with the Chinese film industry for a long time. At the end of 2018, for example, the Munich based media company, licensed the rights to China, to remake the film DER GEILSTE TAG with Matthias Schweighöfer and Florian David Fitz in the leading roles.

"China has a rich and creative film landscape with enthusiastic cinema fans. I am looking forward to new contacts and an ongoing exchange between China and Germany," says Stephanie Schettler-Köhler, Managing Director of PANTALEON Films.
