On 20 January 2023, the five-part series "ASBEST" by director Kida Khodr Ramadan started in the ARD Mediathek and already thrilled the streaming audience on the first weekend: With almost 3 million views, the series has the most successful start of a media series in the ARD Mediathek.
"ASBEST" is a production by Pantaleon Films GmbH on behalf of ARD Degeto for ARD. The producers are Dan Maag, Frank Kusche, Patrick Zorer and Marco Beckmann. Carolin Haasis and Christoph Pellander (both ARD Degeto) are responsible for editing the series. The series was funded by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
